- Graduated from the Vocal Music Department at Chung-Ang University
- Earned a diploma and completed the highest level of performance studies at the Karlsruhe University of Music in Germany

- Received a special award at the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition
- First-place winner at the Alexander Girardi International Singing Competition
- First-place winner at the Trogir International Tenor Competition, among many other international contest victories
- Selected as "Singer of the Year" 2008 by Opernwelt, a European opera magazine
- Recipient of the Newcomer Award at the 7th Korea Opera Awards 2014
- Named "Vocalist of the Year" at the Korea Music Awards 2016
- Former principal singer at both Freiburg Theatre and Kassel State Theatre
- Has performed in major opera houses in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, and Japan, including the Munich National Theatre and Basel Opera House
- Has played leading roles in operas such as Così fan tutte, The Magic Flute, The Barber of Seville, Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Pasquale, L'elisir d'amore, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Simon Boccanegra, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, Romeo and Juliet, Faust, Werther, and Rusalka.
